About Me:
upcoming entertainerI was born October 25, 1982 in Hampton, VA, but i've been raised in Clarksville, TN. I've always been a fan of music and continue to be one now that i am an artist. The first rap i wrote was in the 5th grade when me and my boy called ourselves JL and used to re-write kris kross songs and perform them in class and at lunch. I continued to write throughout school mainly as a hobby during class when i was supposed to be taking notes, never any songs, just verses and poems. My senior year of high school i was in Mainstream which was the performance choir in school. That's when i began songwriting because i found out that the person who can write a hit song can get paid and it came kind of easy for me. After graduation i didn't really know what i wanted to do so i attended Austin Peay for a while before moving to VA and playing basketball at a community college. It was while i was away in VA that i began writing more and my poems started turning into raps. From being such a fan of music, i knew how to structure a verse and how to measure a bar and being in a different element helped me to developmy own sound because i just had to be me. During my breaks i would come back home and me and a few of my boys started recording some songs. I moved back to Clarksville after two years of school and continued to write and got into beat making the same way i got into songwriting. I recorded my first mixtape, Nothin Like It, in 2004. I didn't really know what to do with it and it pretty much sat on the shelf although the crew did bump my shit. I began working on my first album, My Perspective, which came out in 2006 with limited distribution. In 2007 i learned how to and began recording myself to cut out the cost of studio time and released my second mixtape, Still Nothin Like It, to the streets. In 2008, i released Pulse of the Streets, and my fellow artist, Young Hustla's first mixtape, '08 Mo Cake. These three mixtapes were recorded in a 4 month period in which me and my team recorded over 150 tracks! I began working on my second and upcoming album in the middle of 2008 and organized and perfomed at my first show and the first two hip hop shows ever at the Coup in Clarksville. I am putting the finishing touches on my new album entitled This Is M.E. which has two discs, My Environment and My Expression which is out July 28, 2009.
